Claudia
As owner of AVA hair studio, Claudia prides herself in continuing education. Upon receiving her California cosmetology license, Claudia moved to Seattle and attended the Gene Juarez Advanced Color Academy. In 2007 she relocated to Yokohama, Japan where she quickly established her business while living abroad and learned many advanced techniques throughout Asia. Claudia returned to Monterey, California in 2010 and expanded her color and hair design expertise at Oya hair salon while working with new color lines and learning the latest trends from the top artists in the business. In 2012 she moved to New York City where she trained at Arrojo, one of the top salons in the United States. Returning to the San Diego area in 2014, Claudia opened AVA hair studio, bringing our area all the expertise and training she has mastered from around the world.
Angelica
Angelica has received her cosmetology license after attending California Hair Design Academy in La Mesa. She strongly believes in continuing education and strives to absorb every bit of knowledge possible within the hair industry. She is excelling at color techniques, product knowledge, and client satisfaction. She is continually updating knowledge through classes and learning everything Aveda and AVA hair studio can provide. After two years of apprenticing under Claudia she is now developing her own clientele.
Maya
Maya started out with us as a receptionist but as her time here grew so did her passion for hair. She is currently going to school to obtain her license in cosmetology. She is currently working under Claudia and can’t wait to get on the floor!
Alis
Alis is the daughter of Claudia and has worked at the salon since opening in 2015. She is currently going to college to obtain a degree in applied mathematics and loves spending time at the salon working and getting to know our clients better.
